Dr. Abdullah Nidal Addas holds a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah (2006) and a master's degree in Landscape Studies from the University of Sheffield (2009). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield in the field of social and behavioural aspects in landscape design (2015).
Dr. Addas is currently serving as an ِAssociate Professor and faculty member at the Faculty of Environmental Design, King Abdulaziz University. He teaches a number of theoretical and technical courses and studios. He is the author of "basic graphic in landscape architecture" (Arabic Language) which is the first book in the Arabic library about the techniques and methods of graphic presentation in the landscape field.
Dr. Abdullah addas took administrative positions in the department and faculty level. In addition, he is the Deputy Director of the Center for Alignment of Educational Outcomes with Labour Market in KAU Vice President for Development Office and he been appointed as consultant to Strategic Center to Kingdom Vision Realization.

Research Interests
Social and behavioral aspect in landscape architecture design
My research focus on the cultural and ethnic diversity and the impact of these factors on the public open spaces in the city, especially in the scope of the urban environment. This includes a focus on the concept and theories of place attachment and patterns of using open spaces.
In addition, I have an interest in the research methodologies that offer more interaction between the researcher and the user which enables the researcher to obtain identifiable information, especially in the scope of Landscape Architecture and especially the experience of people in open spaces within the city context.
